Description: This is a 1976 Ford Wayne Caterpillar Diesel Bus with a GVW of 27500. This Vehicle is a Converted School Bus that has been totally reworked and used by the maintenance department of a School District.
There is over 1,100 Cubic feet of storage space. All passenger seats have been removed and all side windows have been carefully covered and fitted with thick sheet metal. The bus has been completely painted white.
The purpose of this bus has been for the security of district property while performing major work projects on school sites. The bus was made to be secure enough to prevent vandalism of expensive support equipment.
The Engine is a CAT model 3208 that was delivered in June 1991. V8 636 C.I. A true CAT diesel workhorse. The bus has not had much usage since it was converted to a maintenance bus, so we can safely say the remanufactured engine has relatively low miles, however the exact amount is undeterminable.
During our inspection the staff mechanic indicated to us that it is in good mechanical condition and that he would feel safe to travel across the country in this bus.
