This piano, manufactured by The Cable Piano Company, Chicago, Illinois,
needs a new home! The piano's finish is in need of work - the finish shows
lots of wear & tear, and appears to be original. A piece of wood, right of
the panel that covers the sound board below the keyboard, is off (the piece
exists - it's sitting behind the sound board cover - please see photos)
The name "Wellington" appears on the sound board - the serial number below,
and the nameplate on the soundboard, seem to indicate that piano was
manufactured by Cable.
The sound board cover is held in place by a spring latch, but for some
reason, the cover would not open.
The keyboard cover opens and closes (no key is available for the lock) The
piano has four casters, but the one on the right rear is not attached (it's
resting on the rear frame of the piano, seen in photo)
The white keys are yellowed, and look like ivory - 12 of the white keys have
little chips in the leading edges.
All 88 keys appear to work - they all sounded when played, and no keys were
noted as sticking.
The serial number of the piano is 195321, which appears to be 1915 model.
The sound board has this description "New Composite Sold Metal Frame"
Wellington in the upper right corner
The piano is approximately 4' 9" wide, 4' - 4" tall, and 2'-2" deep.
